Grant is a legal strategist with long experience of taking complex cases, dissecting them and reassembling in ways that enhance the client’s prospects of achieving success. Having controlled a large number of high profile cases including a variety of group and class actions, Grant has a wealth of experience in public relations and media issues. In combination with an extensive track record of direct lobbying, his legal cases are often propelled into resolution processes that did not initially seem available. His case record speaks for itself.
Maurice has over 40 years experience as a commercial and corporate lawyer and has acted for public listed, and for both widely and closely held companies, in a wide variety of company, commercial and financing transactions. He currently acts for a number of companies and also provides advice to a large private client practice comprising substantial families, trusts, societies and various charitable bodies. Maurice has particular interest and expertise in franchising matters and has presented many papers on the topic throughout NZ and acts for both franchisors and franchisees.
Shaun controls a strong business and litigation practice, providing legal advice to private companies, individuals and trusts on all aspects of their operations. He advises on all areas from strategic direction through governance, management, third party contracting, joint ventures, property, licensing, finance, acquisitions, enforcement/compliance and dispute resolution. Shaun's focus is on finding solutions to problems, and providing clear, pragmatic advice his client's can work with.
Daniel is a property and commercial lawyer assisting private clients, not for profit organisations and small to medium enterprise. He is also part of our insurance team here at GCA. . In order to achieve great results for his clients, Daniel knows that you have to work hard to understand them.
As a part of the litigation team at GCA Lawyers, Richard has a wide range of experience across a number of different legal fields including public and administrative law, employment law, commercial and company disputes, torts and other common law causes of action, insurance, and media law
Julie is a Senior Solicitor in our commercial and property team, regularly advising clients in relation to business and residential conveyancing transactions. Julie's area of expertise also includes advising on and resolving Relationship Property matters, trusts, the adminsitration of estates, preparation of wills and powers of attorney.
Emily is an experienced litigator who has practiced both here in NZ and in London. In addition to advising clients on their rights and various remedies, she also tutors for the University of Canterbury and instructs on professional skills for the College of Law. As part of the gca litigation team, Emily has a particular interest in insurance, education and private client work.

Laura works mainly in the insurance law area of the GCA Litigation team. She advises clients on their entitlements under their insurance policies and how to progress their claim through to settlement. She is also heavily involved in the Southern Response Class Action and enjoys building good working relationships with clients in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Bryony has recently joined the team as a law clerk, and has just been admitted to the High Court as a barrister and solicitor in July 2017. She works primarily with the commercial team on property and business matters. In her spare time, Bryony is a travel enthusiast also enjoys walking, hiking, reading and good food.
