Shaun controls a strong business and litigation practice, providing legal advice to private companies, individuals and trusts on all aspects of their operations. He advises on all areas from strategic direction through governance, management, third party contracting, joint ventures, property, licensing, finance, acquisitions, enforcement/compliance and dispute resolution.  Shaun's focus is on finding solutions to problems, and providing clear, pragmatic advice his clients can work with.

Shaun has particular expertise in the gambling sector covering charitable and corporate constitutional issues, all aspects of licensing, the full spectrum of enforcement/compliance issues and the remedial options available.  He has been the driving force behind some leading cases in this area before both the Gambling Commission and the Courts.

Shaun's work in this area includes regulatory and advocacy work, and Shaun has appeared before local councils and committees, Parliamentary select committees and the Courts in support of his clients' interests.

Since 2011, Shaun has also developed a significant practice assisting unit title owners and body corporates with insurance matters, including the eventual 'as is' sale of developments of up to 40 units.  These have included innovative approaches not previously seen in Christchurch, and developed by GCA.  Shaun is a leading practitioner in the 'as is' sale of developments as  a whole, and has developed a clear strategy for completing such sales effectively and easily.
